I wanted to tell a story I wrote about the true meaning of Christmas, not the presents not the money not the commercialism and bear in mind this is not a true story.

There was a rich family of five a mom dad two brothers both twins and six and a sister who was five. This family has many relatives who also were rich and every Christmas they would all be together in their mansion with lots and lots and lots of presents and lots of food and wine. Christmas was their favorite time of the year because they were the greedy sort and loved the presents and wine and food. they gave to charity on this day but only to look good. The three kids however were believers in Jesus even though no one else in their family were, they had recently and secretly gave their lives to God because they knew what their family would do if they found out, they would freak out badger them and say what can God give that our money can't?

They never felt right during Christmas even with all the toys food and presents so a week before Christmas the three children gathered together after everyone had gone to sleep and prayed together that God would change Christmas this year and show everyone what Christmas really means. with such purity and humbleness in their hearts God graciously said yes, so the next morning God began to take everything away from the family, first they lost all electricity and because of difficulty with the electric company even with all their money no one was even able to come to their house to help them. soon after they went to the store for last minute Christmas shopping, little did they know an astroid had come in under the radar crashed into their house and destroyed everything. when they called the insurance company the best in the buisness they said that astroid insurace was not covered and they parents screamed into the phone with such anger and hung up.
They then said well at least we have our money then the next day they found that the bank had been robbed and all their money was taken, which they couldn't understand because they had a special personal bank with very high security where the entire family and all its members stored all their cash jewels and riches and was told it was 100% robery proof.

The family with only a few days till Christmas now homeless, poor and had nothing but the clothes and jackets on their backs wander for a few days in the freezing cold with no food but the scrap they found in the garbage and ate snow for water. they on Christ mas eve they came to a small farm and begged for a place to sleep in warmth and the owners has compassion on the poor family and said they could sleep in the small cottage next to their house and brought them food for the Christmas dinner with drinks. The family of five, the father the mom the three children ate and drank and for the first time were so grateful for the little they had. They laughed and were so happy so warm and so full. It then dawned of the father this is what Christmas is about and everyone agreed and he said and to think had we not lost everything we never would have gained everything and he then said who do you think we thank for this blessing? the cosmos? the universe? Fate? and then as he said this accidentally tilted the lamp and they all say a crucifix of Jesus on the wall with the lamp shining on it. The family were in tears with awe and wonder and the three kids looked at each other and then to the crucifix and said Thank you Jesus for answering our prayers!

I love it!

I believe it is the little things that make Christmas special. Very young children don't discern how much gifts cost, they just love what they love, it's only as they get older and try to keep up with what their friends have. We could learn a lot from young children, they have no prejudices and they have simple wants.

You love it huh? lol Its not that great I pretty much wrote it from the top of my head so its kinda rugged I guess you could say. I just felt inspired to write the true meaning of Christmas not what everyone else thinks it is. For lots of people its all about presents money commercialism, for a lot of Christians its a pagan holiday, its evil its to distract us from Christ. Then you have people like me who have a child like heart and get very happy and excited when december comes because I can feel the Christmas spirit in the air and because I know the true meaning of Christmas

I don't understand Christians who dismiss Christmas - sure it was once pagan and a mid-winter festival but Christians changed all that. No one in my church thinks that way. Actually we could go around dismissing just about everything for various reasons, how about we dismiss Easter because it celebrates violence and May Day because it has socialist origins - oh puleese come on! Let's see Christmas for what it is - a reason to celebrate the birth of Christ and to share Him with the secular-minded.
