a comfort beyond understanding
a hand on my back during the night
A strong warrior with a large heart and wings
someone to guide me
with each breath I take
Sent by God
And loyal until my end
And God a father whom much like a mother
takes the time to hold me
with compassion, grace, mercy and trust
understanding to heal
understanding to steer with grace
understanding of my sinfulness and sins
knowing each every flaw he sent his son
Jesus to live pure
To be human born of a virgin
a lamb for sacrifice
to have a reason for each decision from sun up to sun down
to be the change to have to lead a new era of people
A discipleship of twelve and teach freely
going about to cure diseases, healing others, preaching, and raising the dead
lastly he was trialed wrongly
The trial between himself and crazy killer
and the murderer was set free by vote
Jesus had to carry his own cross to be crucified
He was put in a tomb to be for burial
He kept his promise to die and arise from the dead
then after he returned to his disciples
to spend the last few moments on earth with them
until he went to heaven at the side of the Lord God almighty
"For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son so whom shall ever believe not perish but have ever lasting life"
John 3:16

The fact that English has a wealth of Christian hymns is a heritage you would enjoy, also, I think.
