"Soul Wrecked"
Awaken O' Lord!
Arise Ancient One!
Here the groans and cries of my heart.
For my heart aches and groans in the night.
Its cries echo through the night.
Please remember your servant and shower your unfailing love on me.
Do not abandon me like a man who has been marooned on an island.
Though many people pass me, I feel like an exile.
They pass by me like ants, never letting a word leave their lips.
Everywhere I go I see broken hearts in need of a savior, peoples who's candles have been extinguished.
O' Lord please ignite their flames once more and may people look to you and give you the praise you well deserve.
How my spirit is crushed when I see my people following the ways and customs of this world, giving themselves to sexual pleasure and desires.
For I am just one man, what can I do?
They refuse to listen to the Good News and run from it.
They cover their eyes and ears and purposely make themselves deaf and blind.
"Do not speak to us about truth or show us what is right!" they exclaim.
Open there hearts Lord!
For I myself am guilty of breaking your laws and decrees.
Save me! O' Lord of my Salvation!
Do not leave me or take your Holy Spirit away from me.
Do not let my lamp go out for my oil is almost gone.
The darkness slowly engulfs me making me stumble.
I am like the people of Egypt, when you sent darkness to consume their land.
I am like a deer, panting for water out in the desert.
My soul pants for your word and life giving water.
Let your double edged sword pierce my heart and examine it.
Fill my life again O' Lord, for there is nothing in life outside of you.
Woe! On to those who refuse to obey you and who laugh at your existence.
For the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth awaits them.
Have mercy on all people of different tongues and nations.
Guide us Lord, and be our Shepard protecting us from wolves and the jaws of lions.
Surely you will be with me always, even when I slumber beneath the earth.
Take me aboard your ship O'Lord, and let me set sail with you into my heart.
