S
Missing an arm around my shoulder,
regretting the absent hand at my back,
Lacking a protector and provider,
Lonliness endures walking
Down the aisle to the altar.
Taking the candle in my hand,
Following a family to the pew
At the back no one notices
My tears of want.
Silent night singing with
Voices only lifted to God.
My heart hears
His quiet voice of tender love
Warming my shoulders
Reminding of the past bruises
On my back no longer there.
Giving me strength to survive
And live in peace and abundance.
He will not strike or demean
God's child nor deceive
Or bring hatred and addiction
Into Our home.
Growing in His love
My thirsty want quenched,
His voice reminding me
Only our relationship will never
End.
