Sandy explained to me on his facebook page last week how he did the double bass sound with other stuff on this song.

He used the right hand stick along with the bass pedal, and the left hand stick on the drum rim. This all happens about mid-way into the song. It was a thrill to touch bases with the drummer who's music, I learned to play 'em by!

He first grabbed my attention when I heard him doing Drumming Up A Storm on the radio. I was about 15 years old. Nelson is about 5 to 6 years older than me. He has a facebook page. I got hooked and started buying all his singles and LP's. All those got stolen from a storage shed, so now I just punch 'em all up on Youtube!

Glad you like it! He's got a ton of stuff on Youtube. His big one that got him rolling was Let There Be Drums.

Yeah, I just checked that one out. Youtube has everything. I do miss the actual vinyl itself though. I wouldn't want to really listen to any of the stuff I had. I just like vinyl the way it sounds. I was just a record geek I guess.

Yep, a lot of the quality on vinyls gets lost on the internet.

Man, I want to learn how to drum so bad. I just don't have enough for a drum set yet.
