Arias gets life in prison with no chance of parole for murder of ex-boyfriend
A judge sentenced convicted murderer Jodi Arias to life in prison without the possibility of parole Monday, for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander.
The decision by Judge Sherry Stephens was largely a formality after a jury deadlocked last month on whether to give Arias the death penalty or life in prison. The mistrial removed the death penalty as an option.

She said those abuses caused her to snap. Police, prosecutors, and the jury couldn't seem to grasp that the overkill -- shooting in the head and stabbing him more than thirty times -- she engaged in before fleeing to Utah was a significant sign that she really did snap. It isn't uncommon for abused people to take over-zealous revenge on their abuser, such as what Arias did to Alexander.
Perhaps someone will review her case and she'll get a reduced sentence, eventually.
