In 88 years, I have been there, done that, so help me. Cried a lot, laughed a lot. The one constant, always there, was a life that went along side the tears and laughter, and that was the spiritual life I also led, the one I will live in eternity.
There was a day that I stood on a hill, watching my 21 year old gorgeous (inside and out) daughter being lowered into the ground. Someone much of my life was intertwined with. And in a tree nearby a bird sang. God was still creating beauty around me when it seemed all my beauty was leaving.
I have been careful to live with the birds who sing.
God's purpose for all of us is for us to live with Him eternally. He wrote the whole bible about that. He gave us a narrow road to walk while we are here. Even as we personally walk within the edges of that road, it goes through the country that others who do not walk that way have paved. We are going to have some of the rocks hit us. But God wants His road for us to be filled with abundance. I don't think God says to be filled with money only. But abundance as in the word shalom.
