DEBRIS OF SHAME
Coral Gathman Cook

The pain keeps me alive
Yet I cannot bear it anymore
Where do I go to hide
From this awful, troubled shore
Where all that washes up
Is the wasted debris of shame
Without sense of meaningfulness
Without meaning existence dies
Right in place
And takes the waning soul with it
To the Grave of Desolation
The place where I now dwell​
