What is denying self? Living to almost perfection? or denying things you know are sins?

According to me that means to reject all your titles (doctor, master) and to treat every person with respect and kindness (especially the poor), then to separate yourself from all ungodly people, then to be ready to go without your luggages anywhere. How good it sounds?

Denying self means that in spite of how you feel, you deny what your feel and obey God's commands.

The Lord Jesus Himelf, Who is sinless, 'made Himself of no reputation...humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the Cross' (Philippians 2).

I think denying self is havin it but not takin pride or not boastin in your possesion. Having a qualification but not making people umcomfortable. But always boasting in the strength of christ not yours.

I was under the impression that denying oneself is to deny what you truly are.

But I don't have context for what you are asking so I'm not sure how to respond.

Denying self is to live in the freedom of God instead of living according to your own limitations.

We often see it as a restriction but it is quite the opposite.

To me?

It´s denying the thought I was perfect, it´s hiding the misery of myself. :)
