While I agree there are very unfortunate people who need assistance and should receive it I will also say...
1. If a man wont work he should not eat--->The Bible
2. A man that will not take care of his family is worse than an infidel (unbeliever)--->The Bible
3. Jesus quit feeding the multitudes because they were only coming for handouts.
4. Jesus said we will always have the poor with us.
