SISTER
Whatever happened to her?
I ponder friendship gone.
She carried such a burden.
As we sat in the market café, she said,
“I want what you’ve got.”
I’d hoped and prayed she’d ask
for the gift from God she sensed I had.
“Well,” I replied, “you can have it.
All you have to do is ask.
He will come your way,
He hears those who seek and ask.
Seek Him while He may be found.”
I could sense she was thinking material
though I was meaning spiritual.
“The Universe and spirit-world
are who I ask to provide for me,
I’ve never known this ‘He’.”
Silent prayer went up…
“Dear Lord, I ask You call my sister
and ease her soul of pain.
Help her say ‘Yes’ when You call again.”
I gave her the Lord’s number
So she could enquire and, if He willed, be free.
His number? Yes, I’ll tell you,
It’s Jeremiah 33 and 3.
Ring it in your Bible!
