and remember them ONLY when it's necessary for edification and encouragement purposes

let the past be the past, and leave it there,
may those be healed, and stay healed

It is wise to learn from your past and apply practical, pertinent, application to improving your spiritual and physical life. Once you confess your sins God forgets all about it. For me, I start with a clean slate each day and don't really dwell to much on previous sins and serious mistakes from lack of judgement and discernment. Live and learn is my motto, forgive and forget.
