In Christ, we are made right with God, we are His righteousness, and we have the power of Christ in us to live right.

So as we spend time with God in prayer and studying the Bible, we can access the wisdom and strength we need to make right choices and behave right. It doesn’t happen all at once or overnight, but we will make progress every day that we seek God this way.

I really want you to get this revelation of who you are in Christ as a born-again believer so you won’t be frustrated or discouraged or feel like you’re always under attack and just trying to get through the day. God has more for us than that!

When you make a mistake and the devil comes and tells you “You’re no good,” you don’t have to take on the guilt and condemnation he wants to put on you. No! You can immediately confess your mistake to God, thank Him for forgiving you and cleansing you with the blood of Jesus, and move forward in the victory of His grace and forgiveness.

I encourage you to learn who God really is. Get a deeper understanding of His character and His heart for you. Know that He loves you unconditionally. He is good. He wants to bless you and help you. When we know this truth, we don’t have to be tormented by doubts about whether God cares or whether He will take care of us.

Whatever your situation is today, God knows about it. He sees you and hears the cry of your heart. And if you will give Him your problems and do what He tells you to do, you will access His overcoming love, grace and power and be more than a conqueror. Because in Christ, as He is, so are we in this world!

The Truth is beautiful, Christ peeps, make 'it' the cry of your heart.
Forgiveness at the cross ! :) Accept it. Embrace it. Slake it. Taste it. Believe it.
Jesus died for our sins, sweated 'tears of blood.' The man Jesus did NOT want to go through this, but His Fathdr's will was to be done and, that, ultimately, all through His stay on earth was the cry of His heart: Follow Him.
Make that 'following of Him all.your life The Truth is beautiful, Christ peeps, make 'it' the cry of your heart.

You said:

I agree we all make mistakes, have poor judgements, and many faults, we learn from them as we walk in the spirit and grow more and more to be Christ like.

When Jesus said to be perfect even as His father in Heaven in perfect, Matt 5-48, He diddnt mean we can be as God, or as perfect as He is, but it means we are to walk a walk worthy of our calling, by living out the purpose of the commands, which is sincerity, purity and love.

But this also doesnt mean God winks at wilful rebellion against Him, you have to be careful how you define mistakes, slip ups, poor judgements, etc.. over wilful presumptions sin against God!

Also doing right as God has commanded us to do, He diddnt obey for us, or send Jesus to take our place or take our wrath, as many highly popular ministries teach, but He came to give us power over sin, temptation and the devil.

But most false teachers teach you get saved, and can fall into vile sins and still be saved, as long as you confess your sins to God, He forgives them even those that will disqualify you from the kingdom, such as porn watching, adultery, Drunkeness, etc,, which I do not call these mere mistakes, or slip ups, NO WAY, they are premeditated, wilful, rebellious sins against God, and those who think they can do them and just confess and all is well with God, need a wake up call!

Either you have crucified your flesh in repentance, first and formost, putting to death the sins of the flesh, because you have a free will and ability to do so, or you are still in bondage and under the wrath of God!

You dont receive Jesus by confessing your a sinner, then struggling the rest of your life with sin, and I mean:
Gal 5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. And these are contrary to one another; lest whatever you may will, these things you do.
Gal 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are clearly revealed, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lustfulness,
Gal 5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, fightings, jealousies, angers, rivalries, divisions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 envyings, murders, drunkennesses, revelings, and things like these; of which I tell you before, as I also said before, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

These sins are not mistakes, or slip ups, and I am sure most of you understand this, but there are many who teach a real convert falls into these sins on occasion because they are born sinners, and this is what they do, trampling on the blood of Christ, again and again, treating His precious blood, like an animal! Read all of Hebrews CH 9.

Jesus came to set us free from the corrupting influences of sin and worldliness, not to be some form of covering or cloak as we rebel against God, the carnal mind must be put to death in repentance first, or it can never serve and please God!

A Saint or an aint?

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow(obey) Me.

Either you are one or the other, no such things as a sinning saint! A saint is walking in the present tense with Christ, being obedient, pure in heart and deed, and listening to His voice, then they follow Him on the narrow road. Luke 9-23-24.

Luke 9:23 And He said to all, If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
Luke 9:24 For whoever will save his life shall lose it, but whoever will lose his life for My sake, he shall save it.

A real saint as described in the Bible has crucified his flesh with Christ, Galatians 2-20,

Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith(obedience) toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf.

Once and for all, hence I have been crucified, and thus they now walk in newness of life, 2 Corinthians 5-17.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

Cleansed and purified of all willful sin, through a real repentance and faith. 2 Corinthians 7-10-11.

2Co 7:10 For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted, but the grief of the world works out death.
2Co 7:11 For behold this same thing (you being grieved according to God); how much it worked out earnestness in you; but also defense; but also indignation; but also fear; but also desire; but also zeal; but also vengeance! In everything you approved yourselves to be clear (pure) in the matter.

They must remain diligent and faithful to the truth, obey from the heart, and keep themselves undefiled from the world and its false ways! 1 John 2-15-17.

1Jn 2:15 Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,
1Jn 2:16 because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world passes away, and the lust of it, but he who does the will of God abides forever.

You are not a saint without actually doing the works of righteousness(doing what is right) Jesus didn’t obey for you, but made a way, through His bold example for us to follow, He said His sheep follow Him and His steps and ways, which leads to eternal life. But sadly most churches teaches Jesus did it all for them, He took their place, and a real Christian is actually a sinner, but called a saint because they believe in Jesus!

Rom 8:4 So that the righteousness of the Law might be fulfilled in us,who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

It’s simple, obedience matters, those who count the cost and endure to the end will inherit eternal life, as you walk in the spirit, and not the flesh, walking as Jesus walked, in sincerity, purity and love!

A real saint will not be perfect as some think perfection is( as perfect as God) BUT will be living the crucified life, that only comes through repentance and faith both proven by deeds! And these deeds include obeying Jesus from the heart, abstaining from all appearances of evil, departing from iniquity, counting the cost, and most of all, crucifying your flesh with Christ once and for all, not because He did it for you, but because He commands you to do it, and a real saint will never argue in favor of sin!

Gal 5:24 But those belonging to Christ have crucified the fleshwith its passions and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Tommy 8-18-12

Many will say this way is too difficult, and will come up with many excuses why they can’t obey and follow Jesus on the narrow road, but Jesus made it perfectly clear when He said, strive to enter the narrow gate, where the professing church says, it’s done for you, you cannot obey God, and to fear Him isn't important, just believe all is done, you do nothing but trust it has been done for you! Does this sound like the narrow way Jesus preached in the word?

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

How do you define them? You keep saying there's a difference, but apparently you're the only one who never willfully sins. We're all up the creek without a paddle, so to speak.
So, Tommy, how DOES one know the difference between a "mistake", and a "sin"?

Nice thread, by the way, Becky. :)
