A few years ago I was part of a program where we spent time reflecting on different aspects of God's character every week. My reflections ended up as poems and here's the first one I have to share with you.

Relentlessly gentle
Your fierce embrace
Whisks me away
To the safest place


Weary of struggle
My heart is laid bare
Surrendered to you
In your infinite care


With surgeon’s precision
You reshape my life
This refuge of gentleness
Eases the strife


My soul is restored
In this hidden place
Your gentle heart forms
A refuge of grace
