cannot hear:

2. but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have
hid his face from you, so that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2)

And it is like it was in those day's that God do hear us, but do we hear God, or are our heart's in some where else?

That is the true question.
