You'll see in this brief thread that Gossip, Tattling, and Talebearing is taught to be a good thing in the modern versions. The verses addressed in this thread will be Proverbs 18:8 and Proverbs 26:22.

So to begin; I'll first give you the correct reading as found in the Authorized King James Holy Bible:

Proverbs 18:8

King James Bible
The words of a talebearer
are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Proverbs 26:22

King James Bible

The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

Now let's have a look at how the modern versions change totally change the meaning of these two verses of Scripture.

Proverbs 18:8

New International Version
The words of a gossip are like
choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.

New Living Translation
Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one's heart.

English Standard Version
The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.

New American Standard Bible
The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
A gossip's words are like choice food that goes down to one's innermost being.

International Standard Version
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels as they descend to the innermost parts of the body.
There is definitely another spirit behind these modern versions.

NET Bible
The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down into the person's innermost being.

New King James Version
The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles,[a]
And they go down into the inmost body.

Proverbs 26:22

New International Version

The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.

New Living Translation
Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one's heart.

English Standard Version
The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.

New American Standard Bible
The words of a whisperer are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.

Holman Christian Standard Bible
A gossip's words are like choice food that goes down to one's innermost being.

International Standard Version
The words of a gossip are like delicate morsels; they sink down deep within.

NET Bible
The words of a gossip are like delicious morsels; they go down into a person's innermost being.

New King James Version
The words of a talebearer are like tasty trifles,
And they go down into the inmost body.

So now if a Christian is using a modern version; when it comes to the sin of Gossip, he won't be too convicted about it. Just think about it; which one sounds more appealing to your flesh:

wounds

or

"dainty, delicious morsels"?

Hold up, explain your version. Why does it say wounds go down into the inner most part of the belly? In the other versions, it's saying such a thing sinks into the heart of a person. Not that it is good.

Sure Bryan. When you start spreading gossip, what usually happens when you realize what you are doing?

Don't you get convicted?

Haven't you ever at one time said something that you know you shouldn't have said, and then afterward, you think to yourself: "man, I should have never even said that."

If you are truly a child of God, then you'll be chastened for it. You'll be convicted about it.

It's like when you get that gut feeling in your stomach. That is basically what the Holy Bible is saying there.

Chosen, I had added more to my quote. I'll repeat it, it's saying such a thing sinks into a person heart. Not that it is good.

I think you're both saying the same thing just in different ways. Also, Chosen is going one step further by recognizing that not all of the interpretations have the same meaning thus confusing and leading people astray.
