In Chapter 9 of John, Jesus heals a man born blind.
John 9:3 "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life..."
Maybe He's wanting to do the same with you. He wants you to show people that even though you're going through these heavy afflictions in your life, you can still shine your light to others. A light that comes from trust and faith in God that even though you're suffering on earth, your reward will be great in heaven:
Matthew 5:3
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
He knows you're weary. He knows. But you also have to remember the cross. Christ lived a perfect life for 30 years without sin, he was betrayed, he was tortured, he was scorned, he was stripped and humiliated, and he shed his blood a total of 7 times, before he finally died after being nailed onto a tree where his blood was shed the 7th time. All of this for you. I don't understand what you're going through, but I know that holding on to God is so much more worth it than not.
There was a poem that I read called Footprints in the Sand. I would like to show you it down below:
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."
This poem was pretty mind blowing for me. You can count on it that God will carry you. After all, He carried that cross all the way up on Mount Calvary and freaking DIED for you! Why wouldn't you expect him love you enough to be by your side always!
Hebrews 13:5 b
"I will never leave you nor forsake you."
He will never leave your side. EVER. Even when you don't think He's there, He's there! Remember that no matter what you're going through, Christ is going through it with you.
Hebrews 13:8
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever"
Did you read that? He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means that the love He felt for you when He died upon that cross is the same love that He's feeling for you now! Pray that you can stay faithful to him. Spend some time in his Word (the Bible). I just beg you to not lose faith!
Here are some verses you can reflect upon and pray on: 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
I will be sure to pray for you.
