For anyone dealing with a vice or addiction, whether it be smoking, gambling, porn, violence, drinking, etc... I have an illustration that will help them overcome as I did when I was saved. The Lord pulled the "veil" back an allowed me for the first time to see the enemy as he was...I, the blind man, could now see.

You walk into a room and in it are to tables one on each side of the room. At one sits in His glory, Jesus. At the other sits satan(just as you would think he looks). It is obvious where to sit so you have a seat with the Lord and begin talking and just enjoying each others company. In the corner of your eye something grabs your attention. You don't want to turn that way b/c you know who is there. However your compulsion to temptation turns your head and satan has now morphed into your weakness, your desire. well now he doesn't look that bad. You begin to compromise with yourself. There is a catch though...in order to fulfill the desire you have to get up and go sit at the other table. Sure you can come back, as a Christian you will always have a seat at the Lords table. But can you stomach seeing Him from across the room with His eyes looking straight ahead at your empty chair awaiting your return. Will satans lies comfort this disappointment in yourself?

So, next time before the urge of the distraction takes effect ask the Lord, "Jesus, don't let me be deceived, let me see him for what he is". He will recall this story to you and satan will loose his power to morph and deceive.

Let me add this. Many on this site if not all are already walking in the Spirit. Some have overcome addictions and through the strength of Christ have attain self control. However, we have friends and loved ones who haven't developed that relationship with Christ because the destructive nature keeps them at that distance. I TRULEY BELIEVE IN ALL OF MY SOUL THAT THIS MESSAGE WILL GET THROUGH TO THE LOST. Maybe not immediately but with all addiction when at rock bottom there are always brief moments of reflection. LET US THROUGH CHRIST GIVE THEM THE GIFT OF SITE.

"Father we bare our love before you, let us bring to Christ loved ones who are lost and lead them away from all that is false and deceiving to the one and only TRUE God. Give them the Gift of site so they may see the enemy and seek the Love You have to offer. AMEN"

Help keep this thread fresh to inspire and encourage more of our brothers and sister as we witness the miracle of our Lord Jesus healing the blind.
