I have a really hard time concentrating on long threads/comments. The best way for me to get around it is to print it. But on these forums there doesn't seem to be a print mode. Some forums have a print mode. Any suggestions?

Highlight what it is that you want to print, right click, hit 'print'.

Copy what you want and paste it into Notepad.

People have been writing me stuff that is so in depth, that I need the whole thing, except my original post.

Today I experimented with a terminal browser called w3m. w3m url >print.txt

You can print (or export) a webpage to pdf, from there you can print and it will retain all of the formatting that you would lose by usual copy/paste.

I had never heard of w3m before, kudos for sharing

It is a terminal web browser for Linux. Doesn't work on Windows.

You can read about it here:

You can watch someone use it here:

Which web browser are you using to print to pdf? I ask because I often use firefox, and sometimes printing to pdf doesn't do all that I need.

Are you using Linux Mint?

If press <ctrl>+p or go to print through the menu

>More Settings

Set to US Letter
Change Scale to about 60% (play around with this until you find a size that you like)

You can also try changing Format to "Simplified" but this can erase the quote boxes which can make it confusing.

If you test this out, I think this is more in line with what you are looking for.

If you change "Destination" to "Save to PDF" it will make a PDF with the print settings. From a PDF you can print specific pages instead of the whole webpage.

Maybe this isn't what you're looking for, but I'll try my best to help you troubleshoot

The problem is firefox won't print all the pages.

I do view source for each page and then edit it in Notebook before copying it to Word.
