Hello i just wanted to say hi and I am okay been in lot's of pain lately still... But I am going to be working with a case manager on my living situation. I am going to have them help me leave my hubby and get a place I can afford and feel safe. Also still have my doggies. Please pray that I can get things worked out so I can be in a new place by april... I am really working hard on doing this even thi ugh I am scared to death and nervous.. prayers would be much appreciated. thanks. I will keep everyone posted. Thank you for all the encouragment.

Yes I have a Mri. Scheduled for March 17 th they did x rays..looks like c1 and c2 are pretty much bone on bone degenerated pretty bad. Will know more after mri. I am probably looking at a fusion in my neck z nd back now and am scared big time I hate surgery and I definitely am afraid they will give me the run around about treating my pain... they do now which Is very annoying.

Oh boy. MRIs when our spine is already sore. Fun, fun, fun (NOT.) :rolleyes: See if your doctor can have you get lidocaine before being put into the belly of the beast. Numb is better than OUCH! (Alos, if you remember Space Invaders, close your eyes during the MRI and see if you can't picture that screen in your mind. I get a kick how much an MRI machine sounds like that game. Plus, closing my eyes and imagining that, never gave me time to worry about the discomfort. Of course, I was very good at Space Invaders, so that might make me a bit odd on that one.)

And, yeah. I know what doctors do with people in pain -- musical chairs, except the only one running around is the patient. If surgery, (IF), make the surgeon make the plans for a pain specialist after surgery. Otherwise, they just go with, "I don't know. I'm just the surgeon."

Do ask your doctor if there is another choice, because the surgeon can't think outside of what he already does often enough. I do know they have gel packs that take the place of disk now. I just don't know if folks like us -- the not-rich -- are able to get that one. (And my brother is rich, but still wasn't a candidate for that, so probably more to it than that.)

I don't know how far you are from your mom and daughter, but try and work toward being close to them for the hospital, if that's the answer. Only thing worse than being stuck in a hospital is being stuck in one with no visitors.

And, final suggestion -- post this on Prayer Request to get more folks praying. Personally, I'm praying for what you're probably praying, a better Plan B. (Not surgery.)

They have some new procedures now where they inject synthetic disc material into the old disc and re-inflate it.

Yes I been told it is going the direction of fusion for both neck and back they are so unstable right now. They both are constantly go in and out and slipping everywhere. Neck goes out so bad sometimes I get spinal head aches because it pinches of my spinal cord and causes swelling in the cord.. that is the worst pain ever. Like migraine times 50 I can only lay in bed in fetal position and cry and try to hold my head still. It literally feels like it is severed from my body when it hurts that bad and it is hanging on by a thread. I can't explain it other then that.... that happens at least 3 times a month now and keeps me down for days..
