Romans 12:12 NRSV
12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.

Hope in what?

Romans 8:18-24 ESV
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. 23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?

Colossians 3:1-4 ESV
3 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is your[a] life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Our hope comes from the Lord as we are seeking the things that are above. We set our minds on what is above, and in these times of suffering, they are only the birth pains that must first appear before the coming glory. It is in this future glory that we rejoice in hope. Faith is the confidence and assurance of things not seen.

Jesus Christ is our assurance in what is to come, which gives us the confidence to keep pushing forward in the faith we hold dear. So we guard this within our minds and endure patiently, knowing God will not let us suffer in vain. In everything we pray,

1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV
17 pray without ceasing,

Without ceasing as like CPR is with keeping alive the pulse to our life. Don’t lose heart, keep your mind on above, and hope in the glory to come.

I agree, it is a choice to trust everyday. Trust Him or self. Trust Him or the world. If it is anything but Him, our trust will be broken time and time again.

Amen brother great post.
Hope is what satan and this world attacks most by first robbing us of our peace.
We must first learn to be content in any and all situations reminding ourselves that this is not our home.
That we are not alone, that our God is a mighty deliver, fathful and true.
That he shall redeem that which is lost or stolen. That he can make and will make beauty of ashes.

"Hope in suffering"??????????? I must profess that I believe in God's ways but I don't understand them. Suffering is an integral part of God's salvation plan for mankind. Understand that, when Jesus was sent for our salvation, Jesus could have simply said, "I forgive you your sins and you are saved." But that's not what God determined was necessary for redemption/salvation. Instead, God's plan included the most barbaric suffering/crucifixion for His Son Jesus to atone for sins and for the redemption of mankind.

Jesus' suffering was necessary for the atonement of our sins, for our redemption. Our own personal suffering is similar, atonement for our sins and necessary for our redemption. There is hope in our sufferings!!!!!!!!!!!

The Question is -------How does suffering lead to Hope -----

-Suffering doesn't give us Hope -----Suffering Leads us to Hope ------
----
-We can have glory ---rejoice ----in our sufferings ------Why because we have been justified through Faith which gives us peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ ------through whom we have gained access by Faith into His Grace ------Jesus suffered and triumphed over His sufferings and when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour we can triumph in our sufferings as God's Grace is made strong in our weakness and also we can rejoice in our sufferings because this leads us to the hope of the Glory of God -----

Our sufferings lead us to hope in what is to come ------

Romans 5 gives you the answer ------as to how suffering Leads us to Hope -----

Comparing 2 scriptures here -----

Romans 5:3-4 ESV

3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,

Romans 5:3-4 AMPCE

Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance.
4 And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of [a] character (approved faith and [b]tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] [c] joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.

I agree, it is but yet so true and provides healing once it reaches from the mind to the heart.
