It seems to me that family and marriage doesn't mean much in our secular world.

What do you think family would be like if we listened to God?

Great question.

Well, for me, we read the bible and teach our children the word... It will carry down for generation (Lord willing)
this gives them hope not only that they have the faith in God and will keep the values in the bible.

otherwise, besides some standards we uphold(like not watching certain movies or shows etc) we are pretty normal.
Same bills, same meals, same conflicts and messes to clean up etc... But, we have faith and hope and LOVE.

In a Christian marriage it is based on the two becoming one under Christ. Instead of two people just living together, they are two people making a life together helping each other. They are not so much in love with each other as working together with love and consideration for each other.

When there is a difference between them, it isn’t so much a compromise as working out together what is best for the family. They work together as a team, with the man the leader of the team. He can be trusted absolutely to work for the good of the family first, not in a self sacrificing way but in a way that honors the need of each member.

Each member is aware of their family as under God, and also of the individual role each plays in that.

Families that listen to the Lord, and obey him, have far less trouble in their lives.
