This is what God tells me through the things he has done for me. He did a funny thing for me.
I was divorced and lost my dog for about three years as my ex-husband had given him away to people. The people were low functioning and could barely look after themselves. I prayed all through the missing three years for the dog. One day I decided to go to the pound to get a dog that sounded like a good one according to the description online. He was NOT as they described. I wanted to leave but was drawn to go to where the other dogs were kept, although I didn't want to go. Something drew me. I went around all the cages, then I again wanted to leave, but was drawn to go around once more. At one cage I stood and stared because it was as if an electric shock went through me keeping me from moving on passed the other cages. There in this cage was a dog not barking and looking quite bad. I looked more closely.....it was MY dog, now nine and a half years old. I could not believe it. I had no idea I would ever see him again. I had prayed very hard that he not be out in the cold and at least had some food. It was so cold when he was picked up by the rescue people and I later learned that he was wondering the streets when they picked him up. God had answered my prayers and better than that, returned him to me. He was very thin and old looking and had a growth on his eyelid. I wanted to get him out of there right away. I had to wait until things were processed. Home with me, he was so happy and he didn't need any adjustment period,,,he remembered everything from the six years I was with him. He gained condition and had the growth on his eyelid removed. I had two more happy years with him before I had to put him down due to health conditions. He had two years of happiness, playing and always with me and I had the knowledge that he was safe.
This is how God is. He wants to help and comfort us. But most of all, He wants us to know He is with us. And that is the message and reason for me telling this. He used my dog to get my attention and confirm what it says in the bible about Him never leaving or forsaking us. It gave me so much joy to know God is always caring and loving us, even when we don't realize it. I realized getting my dog back was secondary to what God was telling me by giving him back to me.
