If God knows all things, how can he not remember?

God chooses not to remember our sins. He chooses never to bring them up again. He doesn’t forget because he cannot, but he doesn’t remember them either; that is, he will never bring them up again. Why? Because they have been forgiven in his son Jesus. If you read Hebrews 11 in the bible about great people of faith, yes they committed sins: Abraham, Moses, David, and they are just a few to mention. But you never hear of their sins listed in there, why? Because God remembers their sins no more. God had forgiven them, because they all asked for God’s forgiveness.

Another point: Jesus told us to forgive as the Father has forgiven us. Eph 4:32 So if someone does something against you then later asks for forgiveness and you forgive them, you are never ever to bring it up again. Because once you forgive, you are saying that you accept their apology and will never bring it up again. Hence were that quote came from, forgive and forget. You may not forget what they did to you, but on the other hand, you can choose not to remember it. This is what true forgiveness means for those of us who have been forgiven by Jesus.

Supporting Scriptures:

Isaiah 43:25. “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not remember your sins”

Heb 10: 17. “Then he adds: Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more”

Eph 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you

1 John 3: 19-20. “This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence. Whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything”

If you're going to quote Matt Slick, then please provide a link to his words or at least mention that these are his words and not your own:

well thank you for reminding me, you sound like someone I know, Cough cough Didymos hehe. But I understand its respect to write down who is the author of certain things, however I read this from a booklet, though with no author or links were printed. I thought to share this on CC. Otherwise I would of shared the author or links that accompanied this write up. But thank you for your post of the link.

True. Being unable to remember, and choosing to not remember, are two different things.

The Lord knows the sins we have committed, but he will no longer holdthem against us.
