Not everything in life is about you. Just because you think we're all talking about you behind your back and it's all negative, doesn't mean it's true.
The reality was simple. We didn't know what you were going through, because you hid it from us. That means we never knew you needed help, because you didn't tell us. Had you told us, there would have been five people in your life who could have told you 20,000 reasons why that's a bad idea and given you several options to end it with our help, plus one who would have simply loved you despite what you were doing to yourself.
We didn't talk about you behind your back because, frankly, it wasn't about you, except to you. Some people were using you, and you let them. They did that, because of our family legacy. Had you let us know, we would have whooped them (seriously, I have those stories, we've got whoopers in our family and it's wonderful to watch), and protected you. We have stories you'll never know, because you're too busy thinking it's just about you.
Those stories could have been helpful to you, because we've gone through the similar things, but now you think you're the only one whose gone there. You're the fifth one of us to have gone there. We would have done all in our power to prevent that, had we known. It's one of the most devastating things anyone can go through.
We're family! Trust that more. We stand united, unless someone hides. We really love you. That's what we're saying behind your back, if we're talking about you. There's seven of us. You've talked with us about the others behind their backs. Have we ever said anything awful? We laugh about our differences, enjoy the similarities, and playfully mock, but the mock is only done in front, not behind the person's back. This is what family is about, but it's not always about you, even when you think it is.
