The law is written on our hearts, man. You know deep down what to do. You're just not listening. Maybe it's because you don't want to hear it. Maybe it's because you can't hear it because you don't really know this God guy.
So many threads lately asking what Christians should and shouldn't do.
I think it's really a matter of what you will or won't do.
If you are a Christian, will you read your Bible regularly and pray without ceasing? Yeah...that's like one of the markers of being a Christian. Will you avoid drugs and alcohol and sexually tempting situations that could very easily lead you to fall into sin? Yes. Duh.
Not because some anonymous forum user said you should or shouldn't do it, but because you want to please God and you know in your heart that you should talk to Him more. You know in your heart He doesn't want to watch you grind up on some kid at school or jump into a relationship you're not ready for or listen to hateful music and throw around your devil horns or do drugs and drink or...countless other things people are asking here. You know in your heart that He wants more for you.
Ask what it means to have a changed heart and be a new creation. Ask what it means to live your life for and with the Lord. If you're having difficultly discerning what you should and shouldn't do, commit your life to Christ...fully and completely. Don't keep one foot out the door and just hope you're covered. KNOW you're saved. KNOW you're with God. Be with Him all day everyday and He'll help you answer these questions.
This is supposed to be a relationship. In good relationships, the lines of communication are wide open. I don't have to go to my husband's friend to ask what my husband might think about something, only to do whatever I wanted in the first place.
