You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions. (Hebrews 1:9)
Hebrews 1:9 is quoting Psalm 45:7
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.(Psalm 45:7)
Loving righteousness and hating wickedness brings superior gladness to Jesus. It is a gladness above all comparable gladness. It will be a gladness greater than when your favorite wins their top level of sports championship.
When Almighty God sets an eternal differences, it will be a contrast between those identified as wicked and those identified as righteous. Jesus will make a difference between heaven and hell with some assigned to one place and others to the other place. Each place will behold the other place as in the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16) and as in the scene in Revelation 14:11 - the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever.
Jesus will see it. Jesus is the Judge who will make the assignments. Seek mercy. Seek forgiveness and pardon. Seek salvation from the wrath of God. Seek first the kingdom of God and the righteousness of God.
