However, to gain an overall grasp of the commands of Scripture, they could be condensed into six generic commands;

  1. Repent and Believe (Confess, forsake, fear God, follow, be born again,
receive the Holy Spirit, trust).
  2. Be Baptized.
  3. Love (God, your neighbour, giving to the poor, helping orphans, widows, forgiving, kindness, mercy, sacrifice, encourage, deny yourselves, minister, serve, judge not).
  4. Pray.
  5. Communion (Remember Christ’s death on our behalf through the breaking of bread, gathering together, fellowship with other believers).
  6. Make Disciples (Teach, preach the Gospel, witness, evangelize, plant churches).

And God will make sure they are kept. This is how HE WILL MAKE SURE...
Eze 36:26 and 27... A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

I see your horse has a chrismas or party hat on...

Imagine God CAUSE you to walk in His statutes (commandments). How can ANY person then not keep ALL HIS STATUTES...
With a NEW heart and HIS SPIRIT,,,, that has to be PERFECT!

Then there are Ten that came out of Christ's mouth in the time of Moses...

Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

and He continues on for the remaining nine.

The point of this is that all of Christs Commandments really come from one great Command: LOVE.

Love is divided into two great Commands: 1) Love God 2) Love your neighbor

These two are divided into ten:

The first:

1) Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2) Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
3) Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
4) Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The second:

5) Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
6) Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
7) Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8) Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
9) Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10) Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Other Commands fit into one of these Ten Categories.

So bottom line, how many Commands are there? One, LOVE, with many, many sub-categories.
