hello, I just wanted to ask you guys to pray for me. I feel like I am losing this battle that is my life. I'm addicted to stuff that I have no business looking at, I lie and I cheat all the time. I feel like I am a burden around others all of the time and I want this hopeless feeling to stop. It just seems like God isn't hearing my prayers at all. I cry out to God seeking only his decision, Gabriel stands and confirms I've created my own prison. What holds the key to get me out of this asylum? I feel like I'm losing my mind and I can't do anything about it.

Nate, I know how you feel, enter christianity with the mind of a child, you'll grow in your faith - if you are a Christian then your slate is wiped clean but that doesn't mean the consequences of the decisions you took in the past will dissolve. You have to cope with those consequences and that's something I'm struggling with too but you shouldn't give up your faith. You need to surrender all to God and pray for his will rather than satisfying yours, you won't be able to break the addictive cycle without his help but with real faith you can. If I can you can, and only through God's strength.

Best wishes,

C

I will pray for you and everyone around you. Trust in God. You are going through this for a reason. He wants you to be stronger and have more faith in him. Your prayers will be answered just have faith in him. When you make it through this change you will feel better and stronger about this. In the bible it says that God takes your tears and turns them into joy. Faith is the substance of things hope for. Have hope that things will change. What we take to heart that is what we become. Believe that even when things seem that they are going wrong that God is in the middle of it...when we pray for things. Take everything in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to God. Thank God for answering your praying. Believe that it has been done. You will make it through this a better man. God in you is greater than anything you will face in the world. :)

God hears all prayers, but the thing is, YOU need to act too, and trust God to bring the results you need.

Throughout the OT we see that God acts when people step up in faih.
When Joshua and his people made Jericho fall, they walked around the city for seeven days before the results came. Yes God was the one to tear down the walls, but he would not have done it if His instructions had not been followd.

Praying for you to have strength to battle this.

Dearest Nate,

As you can see there are many, many people praying for you, even those who didn't post and say so. I find that amazing. I came to Christ 3 years ago from a very angry, bitter place (though no one would have known it. I hid my feelings from everybody).

What you have to do is Think On Purpose! Think the right things ON PURPOSE. Don't let the negative, wrong thoughts take over your mind and your day. When those thoughts or desires come into your head PUSH THEM OUT! Tell the devil to go away, he can't do that to you any more! You chose what you think about and those thoughts bring about actions. You can avoid the actions if you get rid of the thoughts. So Please, say to your self and OUT LOUD "I can do anything I need to in life through Christ who strengthens me". Say this over and over and over again until it becomes as easy as hello. Let this be the first thing you say every morning and the last thing you say before you go to sleep. I promise, try this for one week and see if there isn't an improvement. Commit to just one week. I have no doubt that you still have faith and that you can get through this. Because I know that we can do anything we need to do in life through Christ who strengthens us!

God Bless you and Keep you,

.You need to realize how much God loves you and put your faith in Him completely by looking to Christ and the cross, nowhere else. You may be under a strong hold now but He is faithful when we are faithless. He can pull you out of these addictions but the most important thing is asking the Lord to reveal to you what is causing the weakness. You need to understand that addictions are fruits of deeper issues that are going on inside, hurt, bitterness, jealousy, covetousness, lack of forgiveness,etc....any one of those things can cause the enemy to gain ground and the heart must be dealt with first, forgiveness to not only others but to yourself. I personally stand forgiven and am completely free from the bondages that have taken over my life for 14 years and can say in full confidence that if the Lord can deliver me from homosexuality, alcoholism, drugs, hatred, violence, murderous thoughts,greed,etc... he can deliver you and I am believing He will because greater is He than he who is in the world.start praising HIM for your deliverance now brother, speak it out and get in the word and into His presence. You are free, you are free!!!!!!
I challenge you as the prophet Job made a covenant with his eyes to make a covenant with your eyes to God,the Lord can honor it if you are sincere which I know you are brother. Just ask Him to reveal the hidden things to you and how you can overcome the strongholds,it may or may not happen overnight but if you start giving God little areas of your life He is convicting you of then you will start to see the strength of the holy spirt show you the realities of your journey and how to overcome every single bondage including ones that you may not even be aware of. praying for you bro

Jesus will never give up on you, so dont give up on Him.
For God loved us so that He sent His son to suffer the cross, while we were still sinners.

You are and continue in my daily prayers in Jesus.

God bless

Nate- I'm sorry for this battle that's making you suffer. :(

Have you surrendered your life to Jesus? It's a simple, but serious, thing to do. If you come to Christ in sincerity and repentance, the Holy Spirit comes to live in you, and you have access to Him who is omnipotent: stronger than we can imagine! Only through that strength can we change. It isn't something we can do ourselves...God alone changes character. With the best will in the world we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!

I feel as though you have come to a place of conscious decision--to accept Jesus as your Savior and LORD. Perhaps that's the biggest thing you're wrestling with? (I took a quick look at your profile and you say you're uncertain of being a Christian.)

Our ownership of our own sin, and the knowledge it separates us from a Holy God is essential. A r-e-a-l repentance of that sin, and wish to change it is, also. I just encourage you to examine your heart, and decide what you want to do next. Acknowledgement that Jesus took the penalty you owe for that sin is next. And coming to Him as a beggar, completely without means to do anything for yourself, too.
But the good news (Gospel!) is that He awaits you in love and anticipation!

May the Lord bless you, Nate. I will keep praying for you. He LOVES you, and wants to help you! The next move is yours! <3

I think you're hearing God very clearly :)

He's making you miserable so you will stop doing what you are doing.

Are you seeking help? Do you have a pastor that you can go to? A close Christian friend?

You need help with fighting addictions....you can't do it alone. You've taken the first step....acknowledging that you have a probem.

There is probably a 12-Step Group for addiction recovery close to you.

The 12 step approach started with AA but is used for any addiction. AA uses :
  1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.
  2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.
  4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
  5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
  6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
  7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
  8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
  9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
  10. Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
There is also a highly rated website that offers FREE online Christian recovery courses : Freedom from habitual sin: Overeating, Pornography, Smoking, Drinking

Praying for you brother....may the Spirit come into your life and begin to heal you from the inside out :)

When I hear people say that they wonder if there is a God, if He is real...it reminds me of a saying... " When you are going through something hard and wonder where God is....remember the teacher is always quiet during the test."

I too have gone through some things and for most of my life believed that I was doing it all on my one. Thankfully through my amazing wife, that I truly believe God put in my life. I was able to see that all that I went through, all that I have done, and everything that I was..was his plan to bring me to where I am now. With out all that has happened in my life, I would not be here today...truly In Love with God.
