Dear Brothers and Sisters, recently my great nephew was hit by a truck driven by a drunk driver. He is only 13 years old. His name is Luke. He is a wonderful young Christian boy. The truck was going 40 MPH in a school zone, my nephew was in the crosswalk. The truck hit him, it threw him high in the air and over the truck. He landed on his back. It is a miracle that he is even alive.
The driver of the truck stopped and came over to him. Imagine, he had just been hit by a truck, thrown high in the air landing on his back, his left leg shattered. When the man walked up to him, he told the man that he forgave him.
How many of us, Christian or not, would have thought for the first thing out of our mouths to have been that very few would expect to here in this circumstance, I forgive you.
What a precious child of God. I think we all need to remember how easily he said these words, when we sometimes have difficulty forgiving others for much less severe sins against us.
I ask God, and hope you will join me in prayers of healing for this brave, faithful young man.
Please Lord Jesus heal Luke quickly and completely, and let us learn that we also should be quick to forgive. This I ask in Jesus name, Amen.
