First i would try logging all the way out of the site. Then logging back in. Sometimes it may take more than one attempt to get into the chats. Sometimes its only one attempt for me, on occasion it has taken ten tries. Usually doesn't take that many, point is it doesn't always work the first time.
If that doesn't work post back here what it says and that you tried, maybe someone will know more than me.
