I was wondering this morning if there is an English word that would be equivalent to "racism" except it would be referring to religion instead. Something like "religism"?

I have simply found that in our culture today, many people judge Christians on their perception of our faith and not on the actual character of those who truly practice our faith.

If one judges a black person merely on the color of his/her skin, it is called racism. What do you call it when one judges a Christian/Muslim/Jew, etc. merely on the identity of their faith system?

Religious discrimination or persecution, or even bigotry, depending on the circumstances.

Yes, but is there an "-ism" for it? Seems like there should be...

Sectarianism maybe the closest you could find.
