REFLECTIONS ON THE WATER
Coral Gathman Cook
I looked down upon the water
And I thought that I could see
My Savior's blessed, loving eyes
Peering back at me
I studied the reflection
For a very long, long while
And I guessed that His compassion
Would help conquer every trial
But I went upon my way again
Forgetting what I'd seen
I turned my life back to its sin
Not caring where I'd been
I broke the Savior's heart that day
I caused Him grief and pain
When after I'd given my life to Him
I took it back again
I want to walk each day with God
Never more to stray
It brought me awful grief and pain
To see His tears that day
