FIFA President Blatter to resign amid corruption scandal

FIFA President Sepp Blatter says he will resign from his position amid the bribery and corruption scandal that resulted in fifteen arrests of FIFA and some national federation officials last week in the U.S. and Sweden.

That's quite a turnaround. I'll keep watching this, but as recently as yesterday he was angrily accusing the U.S. of intervening on behalf of its soccer federation, and offering veiled threats of retaliation.

I'm guessing someone threw a file on his desk and said, "You might want to read this before you shoot your mouth off again."
