Lets make a promise to one another,
That we have an agreement to reset,
When anger and bitterness take over,
You or I will say, “Stop! Reset!”
That will be our signal that together,
We will stop the fight, not speak and just let
Go, even if we vow to not speak to each other,
A timer follows the silence on reset,
We should remind us of how we met,
Our feelings when we saw each other,
The love, the fate, the attraction that set
Us on this life that is uncertain as ever.
Because tomorrow if I wake up to see you left,
This earth or me, the thought of never
Seeing you, the sorrow it would beset,
I couldn’t bear it. It would haunt me forever.
All the things I never said. I wouldn’t forget,
All the things I should have! How could I ever!
Because this life does not have a reset,
No matter how far we run back we will never
Go back, the lost time of fights we can never get.
So please, please let us, you and I endeavor
The moment we hear the word “reset”,
We will hold on together to each other.
Go back to us, always, on reset.

' Go back to us, always, on reset.'

I like that, because I always like the idea of new beginnings

Rachel, dear heart! ♥

you hit it out of the park with this poem... it works on every human relationship level.

whether spouse, child, sibling, parent, friend... reset.
just stop so we don't lose what we have; what God has built between us.

you had me weeping here:

Because tomorrow if I wake up to see you left,
This earth or me, the thought of never
Seeing you, the sorrow it would beset,
I couldn’t bear it.

there's so much to regret in life, the words spoken and not spoken. the things done and not done.
seems the older i get, the more the regrets pile up.
and they're never about accomplishments or stuff; they're about people!

so much more i could say, but just thank you. i love you!

I love you too!

You are a beautiful soul. You shine so bright to me :)

Rachel,

you are a gifted poet,,,

there is no such thing as 'reset', only a new opportunity to go 'forward', and one day forgive
and leave old regrets behind, and to live a new life remembering and growing from the un-kindness..

Thank you,

I am honored you think that about me. :) I am just grateful for the outlet of expression.

I agree we should always try to move forward.
