there is actually nothing in the bible about a one world government...that is the 'left behind' version...

i also think claims about a one world religion are scripturally dubious...
Before you settle that in your mind, consider this:
There is a worldwide agenda for a new world order....... not just in the United States. It's documented.
There is also a worldwide agenda for pluralism..... It's also documented.

Both of these are running parallel toward a single goal. A single political/religious leader. They may not be painting the picture like that right now, but they will before it's over. Imagine major countries and religions working together for a single goal. Are they doing it by themselves, their own little thing? I think not.

Oh,I almost forgot. About those conspiracy theories........ there aren't as many on the Internet as you think there are. Those that have multiple video footage concerning them, especially local news video, are no longer conspiracies. They're hard-core documented facts. A theory is basically an idea without evidence. A theory with proven evidence is no longer a theory.

the funny thing about postmodernism is that most postmodernists don't realize that they're being postmodernist...so the result of this conversation is disappointing but not surprising...
rachel....if you think i believe there is NO KNOWABLE TRUTH
or that truth is relative, or that the bible or anything needs decontructing,
in other words that i am a postmodernist thinker in ANY way
you'll have to rethink that.

your reply is not surprising, considering you got nada.

this is typical of what you clamed CTs do:

the funny thing about postmodernism is that most postmodernists don't realize that they're being postmodernist
BUT - i'll have to return to Historical Revisionism as a legitimate and much needed discipline later.

Skepticism is a method while denialism is a position. The opposite of "skeptic" is not "believer", and it is possible to embrace something while remaining skeptical. This is an important part of the ethos of science as it suggests new experiments to strengthen or falsify a proposition. Skeptics look at experiments to ensure that they were performed properly with the appropriate controls, proper data analysis and so on. The skeptical method involves examining all data and coming to a conclusion that it produces. Denialists, on the other hand, view data slightly differently, as a means to a predetermined end – minimizing its importance if it goes against their opinion, highlighting it if it supports them, or just plain misrepresenting it for their own purposes. Skeptics keep an open mind until data shows that a hypothesis is invalid, while denialists start with the conclusion and look for support. To put it another way, denialism embraces confirmation bias while skepticism seeks to avoid it.

Hey Zone,

Good to see you.

It is interesting that anyone who talks about a conspiracy is marginalized when in fact they are using the very words of people like Tony Blair, Bill Clinton, Obama, the Bush's, and many others in government who have been very candid about their love affair with the United Nations, legal positivism, and the need for a global government.

We need to define some terms here. A conspiracy is a plan that is fomented in secret. What we have here is not a conspiracy, but an agenda. If you explore the writings and speeches of those in power and positions of influence, you see, not a conspiracy, but an agenda that is being executed and completed at a breathtaking pace.

Satan, using the ideologies of people like Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, John Maynard Keynes, Friedrich Nietzsche, Alfred Kinsey, B.F.Skinner, Betty Friedan, John Dewey, Saul Alinsky, and others, has placed followers at all levels of government, (including the white house), education, science, economics, and the business world. And with the ascendance of the New Age Movement (Oprah), Word of Faith teachers, the New Apostolic Reformation, Eastern Mysticism, and the spiritual left, along with the Roman Catholic Church, he has set his sights on the Christian Church as well.

There is only one way to have a one world government, and that is to have a one world religion. Satan is using Socialists and their Marxist ideologies to produce a one world religion under the antichrist. In order to do this, they must destroy Capitalism and Christianity. The Socialists, have been successful in co-opting our education system, corrupting completely our culture, and creating the conditions necessary for destroying Capitalism, which actually starts with destroying our families and creating doubts about the authority of the bible.

It may be too late to save our culture, but we must labor on to bring those who have not accepted the gospel into the fold. A major hindrance to this is credible evangelists preaching a different gospel from the one that Paul taught. Jesus made more warnings against false prophets and teachers in the last days then He did about wars and rumors of wars.

Ever hear of the Fabian Socialists?

A stained glass window was created and designed by George Bernard Shaw (a Fabian) in 1910. For many years the window was not publicly displayed. It was stolen in 1978 and reappeared in 2005 at an auction. Above the globe in the window is an image depicting a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Jesus said in Matthew 7: 15-16, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruit".

The fruit Jesus is talking about is their teaching. There have been many false prophets even in this forum.

If we really care about the unsaved, we must protect them from the wiles of the false teachers.

Eph 5:11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them;
Eph 5:12 for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret.
Eph 5:13 But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.
Eph 5:14 For this reason it says, "Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you."
Eph 5:15 Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise,
Eph 5:16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
Eph 5:17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

Hi SuperDuper.

This is an important topic, being discussed elsewhere currently, but your post makes some really good references to why Warren and his "Purpose Driven" program is so appealing; so successful; and so dangerous.

Most of what is posted below won't mean much to folks not familiar with the PURPOSE of small group transformational dynamics working to transform the church. have posted on this before.

the idea is (and it is working): mix unbelievers with believers to change the CHURCH - make it into a SERVICE PROVIDER.

here's a very simple page by a PRO Emergent Group explaining (cough) why small groups led by facilitators are important for "The Church": i wonder if we can spot what's wrong with this idea

Pastors are becoming 'Leaders'.
the Leader is given a 'Vision' (supposedly from God) for the direction of that 'Church'.
the congregation must align themselves with the Vision.

Vision-Casting is the current watch word for these guys.

the Leader casts a vision he receives from God (in actuality from other men/leaders involved in this transformation of the Church), and everyone must reach consensus on the Vision.

the Vision will include but is not limited to: BRINGING MORE UNBELIEVERS INSIDE THE CHURCH.

since the Leader has received his Vision from GOD HIMSELF, no one can challenge it (it's hard for me to believe that people are this naive, but they may never have known any better; AND they have literally been transformed into group-thinkers as a result of the small group (cell) transformation process....they are no longer willing to speak out when they feel something is wrong.

please note: though it is clear God despises occult practices; and though we know there is a spiritual realm; i include the resources on hermeticism/egregore etc only to show that some do believe in and practice these things, and that they have been mainstreamed as non-occult transformational devices - to accomplish group-think, or consensus.

this is an ancient system, it is the Big Secret the Freemasons and others have kept - it has nothing at all to do with magic as we think of it...it's simply the ancient art of CONTROLLING THE MASSES. they have preserved the secrets of how to do this for millennia - Plato's Cave is one allegory along these lines.

Some satirical commentary from The Sacred Sandwich

Peter Drucker, famed organizational management guru, says: "The new Purpose Driven Message Bible translates God's Holy Word into an effective business manual to manipulate your congregation like corporate drones. Kudos to Rick Warren and Eugene Peterson for their next bestseller!"

See why Biblically-illiterate Christian consumers are raving about this book! Here's an excerpt from Acts, Chapter 2:

AC 2:42 And they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles' new bestsellers and to small group meetings, to the eating of Krispy Kreme donuts in the church foyer and to contemplative spirituality.

AC 2:43 And everyone kept feeling the bass from the praise and worship rock band; and many video clips and light shows were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all those who had believed were together at three different services, and had casual attire in common; 45 and they began selling their stocks and bonds, and were giving the proceeds to the building campaign, as the church might have need. 46 And day by day continuing with one vision in the new million-dollar sanctuary, and sending church mailers from house to house, they were having celebration dinners together with gladness and self-esteem in the heart, 47 praising God, and finding favor with all the people‘s felt needs. And the Lord (along with Peter, the original inventor of perpetual revival) was adding to their number day by day those who were finding purpose.

you are using a postmodern methodology even if you don't consciously accept the first premise of postmodernism...

if you are ok with that kind of inconsistency then fine...but if you were consistent in applying these methods...you would be one of the 'zeitgeist' people...they just decided to deconstruct more things than you have...

i don't want to keep diverting this thread away from the main topic...so if you respond you can have the last word...

Rev 13:3 one of his heads as if it had been slain, and his fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth was amazed
they worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?"
Rev 13:5 There was given to him a mouth speaking arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-two months was given to him.
Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
Rev 13:7 It was also given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them, and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.
Rev 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone
whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been slain.
Rev 13:9

I haven't done a lot of study in Revelations so I may be barking up the wrong tree, but this sounds like a one world religion and a one world government to me.
these passages tend to be read in terms of a one world government mainly because global government is one of the main political ambitions and fears of our time...but i see that as more eisegetical than exegetical...

for example...when everyone worships the beast...it doesn't mean all other religions would have to be banned... this is an unfamiliar idea in the west...where we are influenced by christianity being the one true faith...but many religions -don't- specifically reject the other religions...especially within the new age movement... this was also the case back in roman times...where the romans were ok with most religions as long as they didn't openly preach against the imperial cult...

so without an explicit statement in revelation to the contrary...there is nothing to say that people couldn't worship the beast -and- also practice their own religions...which would mean no single global religion...

Is it more eisegetical to take a bible passage which literally screams EVERYONE, or to take your knowlege of new age and other religions and impose it on the passage?

in polytheism everyone could worship a false god...and -also- worship any number of -other- false gods...

in scripture you can look at the people of athens...they practically 'collected' idols...so they at least would have had no trouble worshipping the beast in addition to athena and zeus and ignosto theo and everyone else...

why suppose things would have to be any different nowdays?

If you have one religion that EVERYONE in the world belongs to, and it is the ONLY religion that EVERYONE belongs to, then it is a single worldwide religion, worldwide in this context meaning everyone.

Whether or not some of the members are polytheistic does not change the worldwide all incompassing aspect of the apostate church. The unity and common denominator of this church to all tribes, nations, tongues, and peoples in this religion is the point being made.

Perhaps I should have said a worldwide religion composed of everyone from all of the other religions, instead of a single worldwide religion. Then it may have been more palatable for you. In other words, there will be no exclusivity between the current world religions, a perfect plurality.

Warren and the lot use postmodernist terms and techniques.

if you would be so good as to leave out the stupid zeitgesit thing you're stuck on (which i understand and its ridiculous), and just spell out how you think i'm a conspiracy theorist using postmodern methodologies to come to faulty baseless conclusions - please do.

just keep it simple rach...no need to be intellectually lofty or suggestive.

if you can't, that's fine.
i saw your definition over on Robo's CR forum.
you weren't any clearer then.

but i think rachel has learned a few cool concepts and wants to apply them to any forms of skepticism - critical thinking:)
maybe i'm wrong. help me out.

Hey Zonester,

The information you provided is quite interesting. The example in the link above on the Purpose Driven Message Bible is shocking in it's misleading and unbiblical approach.

Oh the dialectical! Ever since Karl Marx applied Hegal's dialectic to economics, the world has never been the same. The dialectic is also being used in our schools, in which groups discuss leading subjects, and those who dissent from the group, (because of Christian beliefs taught by parents) are ostracized and marginalized to the point that they will give in to "groupthink" because they do not want to be alienated from the group. When I was in school, students were lined up in rows, and individual thinking was encouraged. Now, children are often put in groups, many times in circles, and instead of individual thought, group consensus is encouraged. In order to arrive at a consensus, those with widely opposing ideas must give in to a "third way" which is somewhere between the opposing views. In this way, students with "extreme Christian views", must compromise their beliefs to reach the consensus. This creates doubt, which eventually destroys the foundations of their Christian worldview. Secular Humanists know that individual thought is dangerous, when you wish to instill or indoctrinate your worldview onto the group.

One of your links mentions Julian Huxley. Aldous Huxley, (who I believe is Julian's brother) wrote In a "Brave New World", these steps as the means to social transformation, (found in "Grave Influence", by Brannon Howse):

1. Rewrite history to discredit nationalism and promote globalism.
2. Teach thinking skills based on feelings and experience, not facts and reason.
3. Encourage loyalty to teachers and peers, not family and churches
4. Immerse students in global beliefs and values.
5. Block opposition to the new global paradigm.
6. Condition students to serve "a greater whole".

Our ecucation system, influcenced by Socialists such as John Dewey, Benjamin Bloom, B.F. Skinner, and other members of the Frankfort school, such as William James, has implemented much of the above in our curricula and teachers standards.

How many times have you seen number 2 listed above demonstrated in this discussion room?

I don't know a whole lot about the Purpose Driven Agenda yet, (I am still studying), but any pastor who compromizes the Word of God in order to grow his church is playing right into the hands of Satan.

One final note on the occult practices you mentioned. I can't remember the source, only that it was a Denver newspaper that did a study and concluded that the number of people in this country who are engaged in Occult practices is doubleing every 18 months.

Keep up the good work and don't let those who attack you personally, instead of your ideas, get you down. Just remember, that is the way they were trained by the elite who control our government schools.

I like David A. Noebel's take on Colossians 2:8:

Beware lest any man [educator, politician, rock star, news anchorman/anchorwoman] take you captive through vain and deceitful philosophy [Naturalism, Postmodernism, Marxism, Pragmatism], after the tradition of men [Marx, Darwin, Nietzsche, Wellhausen, Freud, Dewey, Foucault], after the rudiments of the world [Socialism, Darwinism, Higher Criticism, Humanism, Relativism, Existentialism], and not after Christ.

"Antonio Gramsci, the Marxist thinker who became the guru of the former sixties radicals who are now entrenched among the elites, promoted the idea that Western society could be overturned by capturing the citadels of the culture---the universities, schools, churches, media, civil service, professions---and subverting its values".
Melanie Phillips, "The World Turned Upside Down"
