We really need to go out into the world and tell people about Jesus...so many don't know of Jesus' love and the hope that He can give them...we need to pray for them! (this was really put on my heart as I was listening to the song below.)

You did it wrong. Quote the post like you would if you were going to reply. You will be able to see what was put in the [youtube] tags.

On your youtube link, you only keep what is after the "v?=".

You can quote my post to see as well.

I'm not. Too shy too, plus I'm not the prime example to guide everyone onto the right path. Can't even remember my own testimony, haha.

But, even if I did, logic would warn me that my message would fall on deaf ears where I live. In general, people in America have all heard it before and don't want to hear it again. Most Athiests now lump Christians in the same category as other religions as wright us off as "Religious people". Or, in other words saying, "Believers in fairy tails."

Most get offended when someone says the truth out of the Bible that contradicts their life styles. Or write it off as "Your opinion", not shared by that individual. The only people I've ever been able to get any progress with are the ones who've been shellshocked out of their own minds by God.

It's truly sad the state of the world... Where being Bisexual is commonly accepted everywhere, it's normal and okay for men to masturbate to porn, and a person can act however they wish with no moral constraints because "Everyone has the right to their own opinion."...

That's the biggest thing that puts me off from witnessing to people.. is knowing that 50% would write it off as "My opinion", 30% would start arguing and insist I'm believing in fairy tales, and I'd have very little chance with who's left.

No matter WHO you are or WHAT happens, the Bible says for us to go out and preach the Gospel! Whether people listen or not shouldn't matter. You don't go out there and preach the Gospel to please man. You go out there and preach the Gospel because the Bible says to, so that people just might believe. If you went out and preached to 30 people....even if 29 out of the 30 you preach to start to go against you and get mad at you...as long as ONE believed and was saved from it, it was 100% worth it.

Can't disagree with that.

I'm just too shy to go preaching to such a large crowd. It seems counter-productive to me that I'd be sowing seeds on a potentially untilled field. Most atheists I've met don't want to hear anything about God because they claim that "They don't want to hear ANOTHER sermon about how Jesus loves them."

A more personal approach is the kind I like to take... One where I just have a private chat with one person, and try to show them that there's more to Christianity than meets the eye.

I don't think that preaching's a bad thing... just... I think that when it's uninspired it inadvertently has counter-productive effects.

Edit: A little side note... That between the time of my last post on this thread and now my opinion's changed a little bit. I do now see that part of a Christian's duty is to reach out to other people in one way or another. I don't want to see anyone go to hell because I missed an opportunity to help someone.

Ah that's ok :) it is hard to just go out and preach to people...but God will give us the strength when we need it :)

A personal approach is also a very good way to go. :)
