About two weeks ago, Mama spotted some mouse droppings on a kitchen counter. Not wanting to kill the mouse she set a no kill trap on the counter. Next morning she had a mouse in the trap.
Our grandson took the mouse to the woods about a quarter mile away and released him.
Mama wanted to make sure she caught all the mice, so she set her trap again in the same spot. Next morning she had another mouse.
Our grandson released that mouse at the same place.
This went on for a week, with a mouse caught every night until I told our grandson to the back of the field in front of the house. About a mile away. Next morning there was no mouse. Mama was elated. She thought she had caught them all.
The next morning she had a mouse in the trap. This time I properly disposed of the mouse (ended his life).
It's been a week, and no more mice.
I was thinking about our sins. We treat them like Mama treated the mouse. We catch ourselves in one, and we put it out of sight, only to find in our lives again. We repeat the process over and over until we finally repent and turn it over God.
