Someone spoke to me one day
said "theres a coffee shop,
come down have a cup our way."
Got in my car
drove to have a look
pulled up to the curb
Suddenly unsure I understood.
What was this place
my curiosity rose
I sat there and watched
Not sure of the unknown
Started talking to God
Not sure but I was at ease.
shady characters passed by
Outside it was 100 degree heat.
It was the season of summer
something was in full bloom
when suddenly I saw
someone I knew.
Got out of my car
when opened the door
Came white rags rolled up
To cool off others more
Some were put on necks
some people wiping faces
others had cups
sharing drinks in empty cup spaces.
What was happening
what was going on
I stepped inside
something spurred me on..
A coffee shop for the homeless
I soon found out
a pastor and his wife
handing gods word out
I came upon two women there
one had a stroke
the other almost beaten to death
but her life was spared
The one with the stroke
said hello who are you
my name is Michelle
when talk came about the zoo
Next thing I know
money was on the table
The exact amount required
I thought "why not me?" Im able.
People climbed in and off we went
Had no idea what i was doing
Or what this all meant
gods yolk is easy was all that came
I couldn't have planned it
and it sure wouldn't have went the same..
Ill never forget that day
Will never forget those people
god changed a life
we all were equal.
Anyway that's my coffee shop story
