THE LIGHT OF LIFE Do you know the light of life? Jesus clearly said in His word “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life”. Following Jesus means we have to keep His word. I know all of us want this Light of Life in our lives; but unfortunately we are not doing the things that will give us this Light of Life. We have to do only two things in order for us to have the Light of Life. The first of these two things we have to do is “Love the LORD your GOD with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength and with all your mind”. If you love GOD with all the heart, soul, strength and mind; you will do what His words says in the Holy Bible that is you will not kill, you will not cheat, you will not worship other gods, you will not commit adultery, you will not commit fornication, you will not bear false witness against your neighbor, you will not steal, you will honor your Mother and Father, you will respect everyone etc. You can only do these when you LOVE GOD. However, if you really love God and you commit any of the above, you will ask for forgiveness immediately. The second thing we have to do is “Love your neighbor as you love yourself”. If you love your neighbor as you love yourself; you will not be greedy, you will not be selfish, you will not see your neighbor in trouble and pass away without helping him, you will not lie or cheat against your neighbor, you will not leave your neighbor die of starvation or hunger, you will not plan evil against your neighbor, you will not take what belongs to your neighbor and you will share what you have with your neighbor etc. We can now see that we have only to things to do in order for us to have the Light of Life in our lives. When we have the light of life in our lives then we will be able to overcome the predicaments in the world because the light of the world which is JESUS will do it for us. GOD love you and always remember to do these two things in life as you live on earth (ie LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD and LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF). Thanks, T.M.Pelekeh.
