In Googling this, I have found at least 5 different versions so far...........Amazing! Never knew this song had been changed so many times through the years.........
This is the version I know best:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....

Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught...
my soul to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
