We know for sure that we must repent when we first come to Christ, which means we are sorry for our sins, and ask God to forgive us of all we done wrong, and want to abstain from sins from thereon, and have a Christlike lifestyle.
We have to allow the Spirit to lead us,and want to abstain from sin,and hate sin,and represent goodness, which if we do sin then we must give it up,and not hold unto it,and allow the Spirit to lead us.
It is not sin that causes us not to be right with God,in the sense that we can get rid of it,and continue in the Spirit,it is holding unto sin that puts us in the wrong position, for some might hold unto it,but they know it is wrong, and will get rid of it,but some hold unto sin thinking it does not affect their relationship with Christ, which they are not approaching the danger zone, but the are in it.
There are some that go through their walk with Christ, and want to represent goodness, and if they sin,get rid of it,and continue in His goodness, for they know it is wrong to hold unto sin,and then there are people that hold unto sin thinking they are alright, and they are the ones that cannot inherit eternal life if they do not correct that type of belief, and must realize they have to abstain from sin,and know it is wrong and they are not right with God.
But do we repent after the initial repenting, and is there scriptures that say we do.
The Churches that Jesus addressed in Revelation, and this is what He said concerning them.

Rev 2:13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.

Repent, works not found right before God.If works are not important why does Jesus stress to do them, and Jesus addresses all the Churches according to their works.

Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Repent,works not right.
And mind you these are people that God is working with to cause them to see the truth, for Jesus said repent, and they will be right with God.
When Jesus addressed the Churches, and their works were not right,He said repent, and do the right works, and they will be alright.
Jesus is addressing people that God is working with to cause to see the truth, for Jesus says repent,do right, and they will be right with God,but those who do not repent, then they are not right with God,for Jesus said, except you repent, and turn from your wrongdoing, you are not in a position for salvation.
Or does it not count if Jesus said it,for it must come from Paul.I should have posted what Paul said, for they might not believe what Jesus said.
