I smile at the highlights in the twilight
of my waking hours,
when I drift between the smell of you
sleeping beside me
and my thoughts and plans of the coming day.
I feel honored to be blessed with this time,
when I feel the Lord is closest to me,
when I am certain that He has plans
to bring about the future we hope for.
And when I am fully awake,
rise up and start my day,
I am rested and thankful
for the good night's sleep
and for the privilege of waking up
with you and the Lord by my side.
