What are we saved for?

Bible question naman tayo para maiba hehe.

Are we saved simply so that we won't go to hell and spend eternity with God? Or is there some purpose of God for us to be saved while we are on this earth?
What do you think is God's purpose for man besides the great commission of preaching the gospel?

and What takes place during salvation?Or What do we receive besides forgiveness of sins and reconciliation to God?

Take your questions to Ephesians chapter 1, and tell me what you find.

You cannot be saved into thinking that you accepted Jesus because you were afraid of hell and wanted to go to heaven,this is wrong foundation. The reason you got saved is that you love Him because He first loved us(1John 4:9). Because of His great love, He died for us despite of our iniquities(Rom 5:8).

Our lives here on earth as believers is preparation for the next which is the life eternal. We are here to be trained.Trials and Sorrows are to be spiritually assayed according to how they can be used to conform us in Christlikeness and prepare us for our heavenly dominion as kings.Yes! We live as kings and queens in eternity future. We reign together with the Son. Since we are to share the throne with Lord(the Son), we must be trained for that role. Read the whole chapter of Ephesian 1 and you will be amazed how important that chapter is.

The Greatest Miracle will take place during Salvation, when the rebellious heart of a sinner is cleansed from all sin through repentance and reconciled to a right relationship with God Almighty through Jesus Christ,His Son.

After receiving Christ. God gave us the authority and power. Power over devils and even satan himself (John 1:12).
