Hello all may God Bless You.

It is ever confusing the different believes we have. This thread is intended not to argue, but clarify what we believe. Every one says I believe scriptures, then why do we argue so much. Just tell os what does it mean to be "_______"!

Roman Catholics:

"Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything. The Credo begins with God the Father, for the Father is the first divine person of the Most Holy Trinity; our Creed begins with the creation of heaven and earth, for creation is the beginning and the foundation of all God's works."

---the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 198
Catholic belief is succinctly expressed in the profession of faith or credo called the Nicene Creed:

The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Can't you just post what you believe? This thread is not meant to argue, but learn. We are all christians but not all believe the same way.

I believe Jesus Christ died and rose again for the forgiveness of my sins (then again I think we all believe this).
I believe the earth is less than 10,000 years old, the days of creation in Genesis are historical/chronological. I believe Noah's flood was a real event, and a global flood, Adam and Eve were real people, and dinosaurs walked with man.

I believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit such as speaking in tounges and healing are still active. It is also my opinion that casting out evil spirits from other people is not as common as it should be.

I could list things I don't believe and that could make for a much longer list.

Can I just ditto what was said above? My fingers are tired. ;).
I believe in the trinity, that God became man by allowing Mary to conceive through the HS Jesus Himself. I believe Jesus was fully God and fully man and therefore he's really the best mathematician ever. I can't explain the math, but I believe it. I believe Jesus was tortured for my sins and the sins of the world, hung on a cross, died, was buried in a borrowed tomb, and raised 3 days later.
I believe in the gifts for today. I believe in charismatic worship---our extravagant response to His extravagant love. No, I'm not a holy roller, but I will be the first to stand, raise my hands, kneel, etc during worship. I believe in fellowship in a community of believers. I believe in being real no matter how broken real is.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but if the creed above is in agreement with the bible, which I believe it is, then all Christians should believe it. For me, in order to be a Christian, you need to believe that Jesus is Lord, both fully man and fully God, born through a virgin birth, and capable of making the ultimate sacrifice for sin. You believe that the bible is the breathed word of God. A Christian believes God is real, and He is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. God's nature does not change. It is through His nature and of course the Holy Spirit that helps to guide us to understand his word.

Why you want to change the mood of the thread? We can debate that in another forum if you like but not here please.

Christians have many different beliefs, what are yours?

I believe Jesus came and died for us and was resurrected. As for most of the other stuff...well I don't really think a lot of it is essential for salvation so I tend to let others believe what they want and I do the same.
