This is correct. We cannot 'edit' usernames, an entirely new account must be created. This means that your current nickname and account will be removed. But, this does NOT mean that all of your posts will be deleted and removed. It will just show your old nick with a user title of 'guest' instead of Senior Member. Many people believe that if they delete their account, all of their posts go with it, but this is not true.
