I don't have much time to troubleshoot this at the moment, so maybe some of you can shoot some advice my way for me to check out when I get back. :)

My current avatar seen in the forums is not showing up in the chat rooms. The avatar in chat (in the private messaging window) is an old avatar. I'd like to get it to reflect my current avatar instead.

This is a problem going on for years. Admins can attempt to fix it, but it doesn't always work. I've seen this last for months. People have tried many things, yet there is no clear fix apparent to anyone on the site.

There is one clear fix that is readily apparent. If the board system of the site were open-source-based, instead of proprietary -- there would [ effectively ] be nothing that could not be fixed...

Food for thought. ;)

Not food for my thought as i have no control over this.
And is still irrelevant in regards to giving an actual answer. So i'm not getting the point of saying 'if things were different then...'

hmmm, my magic trick is normally clearing cookies + cache
if the problem is in the chat software I doubt that works though

The forums (commercially available vBulletin) and chat (custom programmed by RoboOp) are two separate programs running on two separate servers. As a result changes made on your profile (forums) can take some time to reflect in chat.

Thanks Once (and to everyone else). Once: Does this little hiccup (if you will) have anything to do with our chat applet utilizing Flash? Flash Player seems like it's on its way out. Do you know whether Robo has any plans to transition over to HTML5 or not?

Beats me, you would have to ask RoboOp about future plans since he handles all the tech side of things.
