hi ya all,
now today i went in the room and there was me and one other they were not chatting, no music is playing, so i put on an album that was 50mins long just so i dint have to go bk to put more music on.
i was told to take it off coz its not Christian music, this is the 3rd time iv gone in that room and other have been told to take the music off coz its not worship music, now. this is a you tube chat room. so are we to only put on Christian music or i always thought it was to put anything on as long as it dint upset anyone.
i just want to get it cleared up on what can get played in the you tube room and im just upset about other users dominating the room and stopping other people music being played.

My bigger question is why, if you aren't using the room with another person to share something with them purposefully, would you go into the room to take it over for an hour instead of just using youtube? Seems the key purpose of the room would be to watch things with another user, not put music on for an hour and forget the room.
Seems so many people want to go in there alone and use the room for their own purposes rather than view it as a shared space and using it only at specific times with others.
Far as what sorts of things the site, in general, aims at with music is that Some secular music is permitted, but only a limited amount is preferred.

some people like to go in there and yeah just listen to other peoples music selection.

ukkez, I have asked Robo several times if we can watch WHATEVER we want in youtube room, and he SAID yes.. even secular music and movies. If anyone tells you again to turn off what you're watching, tell them to talk to Robo because he has told myself and others that we can watch anything.. as long as it's not porn or something like that..

Official site policy regarding YouTube (from a former Admin):

We do not prohibit secular music from being played, however we do take into consideration the lyrics of the music and the video itself.

Lyrics promoting non (or anti) Christian values such as gang life, sex, drugs, etc. are not to be played.

Videos with overtly sexual overtones are not to be played.

We do ask that common courtesy be observed by the users in the room. It is intended for all users to be able to share videos and if one user is running a long video it isn't fair to the other users. Most music videos run for 3 to 5 minutes and running a video that is 50 min long cuts into other users rights to share what they want to.

The Sermon Tube room was put in place specifically for groups wanting to watch longer videos (such as sermons, etc) that tend to run longer, but even then common courtesy needs to be in place. If a single user is watching a longer video and a group wants to watch something else the individual (out of politeness) should defer to the majority.
