Pink is for females. Blue is for males. Been on this site for 4 years and never heard anyone complain it hurt their eyes.

Sorry to say that there's no way to change it, AboundingGrace.

True. If you're running Windows, AboundingGrace, you may be able to mitigate things by going through the calibration settings. If you want to try that, let me know and I can show you how to locate it (adjusting things will be up to you/your eyes).

I wonder why the makers of the board didn't make the name colors controllable by the posters along with the other settings that they can control.

You could possibly change the brightness/color settings on you monitor to reduce the glare
Just for a hot pink name color on this discussion board? No. Hot pink is not that popular on the internet to make that worth doing.

I really appreciate your efforts at helping me. But with all due respect.. It'd be more useful if you could put on a pair of sunglasses on my hot pink name. :cool:

It was suggested In the suggestion forum and that suggestion was implemented.

I understand what you are saying,although If the color adjustment Is allowed,wouldn't It make the names look different If everyone adjusted the color?

A simple fix that i usually suggest is to use your mouse to highlight the name so it is easier for you to read as it's only a small issue. We have used the pink/blue for women and men for so long successfully that it would be confusing for many of our members to change it, and if we allowed people to choose their own colors, they might choose colors that are even more difficult to see than the pink is.

someone actually could put together a quick chrome extension or use something like tampermonkey/grease monkey to change the color if they really wanted to.

And that could be considered tampering with this site's settings as to it's color code for user names.. :/

As they say... ask and ye shall receive. :cool:

Tested working with GreaseMonkey in Firefox. Might work in Chrome too. For those new to this: This script only works if you run it in your own browser and doesn't not affect the website itself since it the code is all client side.

Code:
// ==UserScript==
// @name ChristianChat Username Color Override
// @namespace   ChristianChat
// @description Changes all span elements including usernames, to black text for easier reading when used from the client-side browser.
// @include     [URL]http://www.christianchat.com/*[/URL]
// @include     [URL]http://christianchat.com/*[/URL]
// @include     [URL]https://www.christianchat.com/*[/URL]
// @include     [URL]https://christianchat.com/*[/URL]
// @version     1
// @grant       none
// ==/UserScript==
var spanElements = document.querySelectorAll('span');
var i = spanElements.length;
while (i--) {
  spanElements[i].style.color = 'black';
}
Next you'll be complaining that too much of the text is black, but eh... at least it won't hurt the eyes. :D
