I can't find an answer to my questions through a search. Maybe I'm not searching for the right terms. I don't know.

What is the deal with "likes"? Also, what does it mean to have a reputation comment made? I'm on a couple other forum and they don't have anything like that, so I'm not sure how to use them or if I should or what they do. Could somebody help me?

The likes is the same as on facebook.... you like posts that you.... like

Reputation is sort of the same, but I think most of us use it for higher quality posts than likes
a reputation comment can only be seen by the one that receives it
you give someone rep using the star at the lower left corner of a post (you can write a comment or leave it blank)

nr of posts and rep given somehow earns up to rep power, which somehow also effects how many reps you can give others in one burst ... I think

Okay, I suppose that makes sense. Sort of. I don't have Facebook, so the terminology had me confused. These are some very different forums and they take some getting used to I think.

Thank you for trying to answer my question.

In reference to reps, if someone reps you, you gain the amount of points that they have in rep powers. For example, I've got 100 powers, so you would gain that many points and a power, unless you happen to be closer to the next 100 point rep level, then you might gain 2 powers. Most people leave a comment when they rep someone, so that person knows who to thank..

You also get rep points for every certain number of posts you make. When you get to 50 posts, you get 1 power. After that, the post level can double or triple. Mine did, they went from 50 to 150, then from there to 300, then 500 and now 1000 posts before I get another power. People who rep you that have 0 powers, do not earn you a rep point because they have no powers yet.. So if you were to rep me, it wouldn't change my point level, because you have no rep powers yet. :)
